ALWAYS Film Showing

On Sunday, June 3rd, at 5:30pm, with Friends of Scotchman Peaks Wilderness and Glacier Bank of Libby as co-sponsors, the Northwest Montana-Forest Fire Lookout Association (NWMT-FFLA) is bringing the film “Always” back to Libby.  “Always” is a 1989 American romantic, comedy-drama film directed by Steven Spielberg, and starring Richard Dreyfuss, Holly Hunter, John Goodman, Brad Johnson and Audrey Hepburn in her final film role.

Bring your family, invite your friends, and join us for a family movie night at the Dome Theater to see this classic movie that was filmed in the Libby area.  Principal photography began on May 15, 1989. Production took place on the Kootenai National Forest, Montana, with some scenes filmed in and around Libby, Montana.  Around 500 people from nearby Libby were recruited for the film as extras to act as wildland firefighters. The scenes where the plane flies over the lake at the beginning and lands in the lake at the end of the movie was filmed at Bull Lake.

The mission of the NWMT-FFLA is to help agencies and communities restore and maintain historic fire lookouts for future generations to use and enjoy while cultivating volunteer support.  Showing this film of local interest at the Dome Theater introduces the NWMT-FFLA to the area and generates awareness to the mission they serve on the Kootenai National Forest.  FSPW is proud to be a supporter and co-sponsor, along with Glacier Bank of Libby, of NWMT-FFLA’s movie night at the Dome Theater.
