Spanning the Idaho/Montana border, the Scotchmans are one of the last, and largest, wild areas in our region. We conduct education, outreach and stewardship activities to preserve the rugged, scenic and biologically diverse 88,000 acre Scotchman Peaks Roadless Area. We believe the Scotchman Peaks deserve congressional designation as Wilderness for the benefit and enjoyment of current and future generations.

FSPW brings adventurers Erin and Hig to Sandpoint April 7

In June 2007, Alaskan author Erin McKittrick and her husband Bretwood “Hig” Higman embarked on a 4,000-mile, human-powered, year-long expedition from Seattle to the Aleutian Islands. The Friends of Scotchman Peaks Wilderness invite you to join this brave couple on Wednesday, April 7, at 6 pm at the Sandpoint Community Hall for stories and readings from Erin’s new book, A Long Trek Home; 4000 Miles by Boot, Raft and Ski.

This is part of the continuing Friends of Scotchman Peaks Wilderness Adventure Series.
