FSPW volunteers help out at STOKR event in Lincoln County

FSPW volunteers were on hand May 14 to help with the 17th annual STOKR (Scenic Tour of Kootenai River), a biking fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity in Libby, Montana.  Approximately 426 bicycle riders from Montana, Idaho, Washington, Oregon and Canada made the Yaak Loop starting in Libby and riding along the Kootenai River through Troy, and then up the Yaak River Road along the Yaak River round the corner to Pipe Creek and down to Hwy 37 back along the Kootenai River to Libby — 98 miles of peddling. Volunteers from Friends of the Scotchman Peaks had a ball helping these fun-loving riders refresh themselves at their first stop 12 miles up the Yaak River. VolsATBoothForWeb

The bikers consumed huge quantities of water, gator aid and plenty of fruit and salads – of course there were cookies too.  The day was beautiful and the people were fantastic, and we were very please to green fellow FSPW volunteers Jacob Styer and Jim Mellen as they rode for the cause. We are looking forward to participating in this fundraiser next year.
