Friends of Scotchman Peaks Wilderness seeks a Winter Program Coordinator to begin work in early December. This 10-15-hour per week position will be temporary. We anticipate the end of the season to be in late March. Compensation in the range of $12 to $14 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.

The Winter Program Coordinator will implement FSPW’s Winter Tracks program, engaging FSPW volunteers and working with local schools to get students outdoors in the winter. This entails coordinating with other FSPW staff members and volunteers in both Idaho and northwest Montana to host students during these 1-day educational field trips. The events occur throughout the winter at multiple outdoor locations near the Scotchmans. The Winter Program Coordinator will be most directly involved in planning, coordinating and managing events in Bonner County, but will also bring together the administrative aspects for this program in Lincoln and Sanders County Montana.

This position will be based at the FSPW office in Sandpoint and reports to the FSPW Program Coordinator.

The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and communication skills, be energetic and comfortable managing volunteers and tracking information. A basic knowledge of outdoor skills and love of wild places is a plus; adaptability and good sense of humor a must! Candidates should submit resumes and cover letter to info@scotchmanpeaks.org

Applications deadline is November 16th.
