Help Wilderness in Montana

Breaking out of the cycle of combative politics and cynicism that has left Montana with no new wilderness designations for almost 3 decades is important to all wilderness campaigns, including ours.

Our friends at the Montana Wilderness Association have asked for  your help today.  With a final push, the Forest Jobs and Recreation Act could pass into law this month!

Please call Rep. Denny Rehberg’s office and ask him to support the inclusion of this groundbreaking made-in-Montana legislation in the 2012 budget bill, which will come to a vote in Congress next week. The Senate is supporting inclusion of the bill, but it could still be blocked in the House.

Please contact Rep. Rehberg now at:

D.C. Office: (202) 225-3211
District Office: (406) 443-7878
Or click here to email him

The Forest Jobs and Recreation Act will protect almost one million acres of pristine Montana backcountry as new wilderness or Special Recreation Areas. Places treasured by Montanans such as the Snowcrests, the West Pioneers, Monture Creek and areas along the Bob Marshall Wilderness. The bill, which was crafted after input from a wide variety of Montanans and has broad public support across the state, will also put people to work in the woods restoring damaged forestlands.

Let Rep. Rehberg know you support new wilderness and forest restoration in Montana TODAY.
