Directions to Trailhead or Meeting Location:

Ross Creek Cedars are accessed from Montana Highway 56. Follow Highway 200 east from Sandpoint to its intersection with 56, and then north on 56 through the spectacular Bull River Valley to Forest Road #398, a left turn if you are north bound. It's a bit of a drive, but car pooling will be available from Sandpoint on the day of the hike.

Hike Description:

16.07.RossCreek.KidsInTreesSquareFSPW Staff and volunteers are leading youngsters into the woods for the third summer in a row. We are partnered  with Bonner Homeless Transitions, a Sandpoint housing initiative, and invite anybody with kids between three and 13 to join us in easy adventures in and around the Scotchman Peaks.

Kids love the Ross Creek Cedars, deep green woods, a creek to throw rocks in and lots of nooks and crannies to look into. These hikes are lots of fun for kids and adults alike. Volunteers get to watch their young charges transform into outdoors people right before their eyes.
