Join in Idaho Gives May 2nd!

And its going to be huge!  On May 2nd, The Idaho Nonprofit Center conducts its first ever, one-day online fundraising event Idaho Gives! for nonprofit organizations across Idaho. From 12:01am -11:59pm, a share of every dollar you donate has the potential to be multiplied many times over thanks to generous contest prizes and matching awards given throughout the day.  Excited already?  Us too!  Go ahead and follow this link to The Friends of Scotchman Peaks Wilderness to make a  donation scheduled to be credited to the drive’s 24-hour time slot.  There has never been a better time than now to give the gift of wilderness to your friends and family!

Friends of Scotchman Peaks Wilderness is teaming up with Shannon Freix, Continental Divide Trail Program Manager for Montana Wilderness Association, to teach a three day Trails Skills class, including chain saw and cross-cut training, May 10 through 12. Kristen Nowicki, the new FSPW Program and Projects Assistant has begun work. Come by and meet her at the FSPW offices at 323 N. First, upstairs and in the back (behind the KRFY studios). Winter Wildlands Film Festivals at Coeur d’ Alene and Bonners Ferry

For the second year in a row, FSPW and Idaho Conservation League are teaming up to bring a collection of snowy fun and fabulous cinematography to the Eagles Club in Coeur d’ Alene (February 8) and Bonners Ferry (February 22). In addition to the movies there will be door prize drawings for ICL and FSPW swag and raffles for some winter fun tickets at local ski resorts and some great gear.

FSPW premiers Grass Roots in mid-March

It’s the world premier of Grass Routes, the movie about the Scotchman Peaks and the  wilderness group that does things differently. The movie will show at the Panida Theater in Sandpoint on Thursday, March 14 and in Libby and Thompson Falls on Saturday, March 16. Learn about the place Friends of Scotchman Peaks Wilderness advocates for and also about how they go about it. You will also get a chance to meet film makers Joe Foster and Jake Glass.

Looking for some semi-free office space?

Hello, Freinds! We are looking for a couple of volunteers to help at with the Sandpoint Downtown Business Association office in the old Panhandle State Bank building. The commitment is a regular day per month or week for a year.
