November 10, 6:00 p.m., we meet up with our Lincoln County Friends at the Venture Inn in Libby for snacks, beverages and a showing of Forever Wild, Robert Redford’s flick about wilderness advocacy in America today.

November 13, 5:00 to 7 p.m. a Plein Air Art Reception at Foster’s Crossing. The Scotchman Peaks Plein Air Paintout art has moved from the Outskirts Gallery in Hope to Foster’s Crossing in Sandpoint. Join us for a reception with hors d’oeurvres and wine service.

November 21, 5:00 p.m., The StoryTelling Company, sponsored by Friends of Scotchman Peaks, will be onstage at Ivano’s Ristorante Italiano in Sandpoint. Dinner at 5:00, show at 6:00. For reservations, call 208-263-0211 or write to storytellingcompany@gmail.com

November 29, 5:00 p.m., the annual Scotchman Peaks Sip and Shop at Pend Oreille Winery. Come sip some stellar wind and shop Pend Oreille Winery’s great gift selection to benefit the Scotchmans. A percentage of each sale goes to the cause.

December 10, 6:00 p.m., the Winter Wildlands Film Festival. FSPW and the Idaho Conservation League present films from the backcountry featuring fearless freefall and freeheel fanatics up to their eyebrows in powder. Tickets are $8.00 and will be available at customary outlets by November 12. Doors at 6, films at 7. All are eligible for some great prizes just for showing up — and even better ones for signing on.

December 11, 9:00 a.m., Winter 101 Workshops at Sandpoint Community Hall. Avalanche 101 with FS avalanche expert Kevin Davis and Basic Winter Survival with instruction from Selkirk Outdoor Leadership and Education. Show your Winter Wildlands Film Festival ticket to get in.

December 13, deadline for winter hikes to be included in the January/February Peak Experience. Download the proposal form at https://www.scotchmanpeaks.org/hiking/leading-hikes/ or fill out the form online.
