Congressman Rehberg Listening Session Sat

This Saturday, January 16th, Congressman Denny Rehberg will be holding a public meeting to take comments on Senator Tester’s “Forest Jobs and Recreation Act” which would establish over 670,000 acres of Wilderness in Montana. This “listening session” will take place at 3pm to 4:30pm in the Ponderosa Room at the City Hall in Libby MT.

This is an opportunity for you to speak up, ask questions, and make comments about this significant piece of legislation.  While the Scotchman Peaks are not included in the “Forest Jobs and Recreation Act”, the passage of this bill has the potential to be a very positive step forward to future Wilderness efforts.  On the other hand, the failure of this bill would represent a major setback for all wilderness efforts in our region.

So, whether you are an ardent supporter of the “Forest Jobs and Recreation Act”, or someone who wishes to express general support and offer ideas on how improvements might be made, show up and express your views on the bill.
