En Plein Air premiers in Sandpoint February 20.

Three artists, in the company of a small, but nimble film crew from Wildman Pictures, went into the Scotchman Peaks last summer to make art in the wilderness. This second version of the Extreme Plein Air hike, then, became the subject of En Plein Air, a documentary about the process and the place. Shot by Jake Glass and Matt Stauble and edited by Joe Foster, this beautiful film will be shown at the Panida’s Little Theater in Sandpoint on Sunday, February 20. Door will open at 6:00. Eichardt’s Pub and Coffee house will provide no-host beer and wine and Friends of Scotchman Peaks will have light snacks on hand. In addition, we will be showing a 10 minute film from Montana Wilderness Association about the wonders and benefits of wilderness.

enPleinAirPC3A portion of the art from the Scotchman Peaks Plein Air Paintout will also be on display, and for sale, including the best of show painting from the 2009 and 2010 Paintouts. Sales of paintings benefit both the artists and Friends of Scotchman Peaks Wilderness.

In addition, before the films, we will be making a special presentation to some of our most venerable volunteers.

The Little Panida seats about 100, and we have reserved about 30 seats for our volunteers, so arrive a bit early for a good seat. We hope to see you there.
