Event Description:
Join Friends of Scotchman Peaks and Thompson Falls State Park on Saturday, December 14th, from 11:00 AM-12:30 PM at the Thompson Falls Public Library for Winter Sleepers! This fun and interactive program is perfect for elementary-aged children and their families!
Discover how animals in northwestern Montana survive the cold—from true hibernators like bats , to bears in torpor, to active winter animals like snowshoe hares and mountain goats . You’ll even learn about creatures like rough-legged hawks that migrate here for our winter weather!
Indoor Hands-on activities and a short hike (weather permitting) will bring the winter wildlife adventure to life.
Please register with Juli Thurston at 903-440-2250 or juli@scotchmanpeaks.org to save your spot!
