Directions to Trailhead or Meeting Location:
Follow Highway 200 east from Sandpoint about 40 miles. Trail #999 is just off Montana Highway 200 at Milepost 6.4 ± 150 yards up Forest Road 2292. Carpooling from Sandpoint may be available.
Hike Description:Wear off the turkey or tofurkey with a leisurely stroll up Star Peak Trail #999. How far we go depends on the snow line and the mood of the group. Better than Black Friday craziness, and good for your heart. Bring your best turkey sandwich!
This is a great opportunity to see some lovely views of the Clark Fork Valley without over exerting yourself. More burly hikers might wish to try for the summit, but that’s not the point. Let’s just have a little hiking fun.
