We will start at 12:00 noon PT to hike to the top of Star Peak in Heron MT. The Distance is variable in the winter but close to 4-4.5 miles. Elevation gain 4,000 ft. Plan is to arrive at the top to see the full moon rise!! After appreciating all its glory, and having a bite to eat and some hot beverages, we will head down (hopefully via moonlight) and aim to be back at the trailhead by 11:00 PM PT. You will need to be prepared for whatever winter conditions exist: bring snow shoes, and cleats, poles if you use them. Pack almost for winter camping. A blanket or bivvy sack. Plenty of food. A thermos with hot beverage. Extra clothes. A bright head lamp with extra batteries. And a game attitude!! If there is no moon at all or the weather is too dangerous we will contact every participant ahead of time. THIS IS LIMITED TO 8 PARTICIPANTS
