Star Peak the hard way.

Date: SaturdayMar 16, 2019
Rating: Difficult - Experienced hikers only
Leader: Sandy Compton
Directions to Trailhead or Meeting Location:

The Star Peak trailhead is 6.25 miles ± east of the Montana/Idaho border on Montana Highway 200. We will arrange meeting and carpooling as the date gets closer.

Hike Description:

Join us for a steep and strenuous snowshoe hike to Star Peak! The elevation gain is about 4000 ft over a course of 5 miles (one way), but it’s worth it for the incredible views that greet you at the top. Join hike leader Sandy Compton and Carey Chisholm and be prepared for early spring weather conditions in Montana! Bring layered clothing (remember that cotton is rotten in the snow), at least 2 liters of water and plenty of nutritious food.

Also recommended: sunscreen, sunglasses, camera and a super attitude.

Oh, and legs and lungs!
