Wilderness First Aid Volunteer Certification Program

This year, FSPW is offering a Volunteer Training Program, and will be providing Wilderness First Aid certification this year for our stewardship and guided hike volunteers!  Red Cross describes their program as follows:

“Designed for scouts and scout leaders, outdoor enthusiasts and anyone who works or spends time in remote environments, this course teaches advanced skills to be used in emergencies when help from professional first responders may be far away. Based on the Boy Scouts of America Wilderness First Aid Curriculum and Doctrine Guidelines, this course aligns with OSHA’s Best Practices for Workplace First Aid Training Programs.”

We are offering this course FREE to FSPW Hike Leaders, Crew Leaders, or individuals who can confirm a volunteer commitment with FSPW in our stewardship or citizen scientist programs.  Otherwise, the cost of this course is 140$.
