Wilderness Ranger Apprenticeship Campout

Hike leaders don't have to be waterproof, but some days it helps.

Looking to find a career working for wilderness?

Join the Friends of Scotchman Peaks Wilderness ‘Wilderness Ranger Apprenticeship’ Campout  September 21 and 22

This is a weekend of supervised fun and work for junior-becoming-senior high school students.   Youth from Lincoln, Sanders and Bonner County will camp near the Star Peak Historic Trail reconstruction project on Saturday night, and learn trail-building skills and get hands-on experience creating wilderness trails.  These skills and experiences will be of value when seeking employment with the Forest Service or state forestry agencies. Youth will also learn Leave-No-Trace principles as well as have a chance to experience commonality across our regional borders with the coming goal of supporting our fantastic local wilderness lands.  This is a free event, but space is limited.  Read more and find the registration form at https://www.scotchmanpeaks.org/events/young-adult-work-weekend-on-star-peak-historic-trail/
