Event Description:

Coolin dugout 1942Northwest historian Jack Nisbet has been following the stories of the rivers and those who explored them and lived along their banks for all of his working career. His fascination, in particular, for the Columbia River system has led him to explore the likes of explorer David Thompson, botanist David Douglas and the modes of travel by which they and the native peoples traveled the waters.

Join Jack on Saturday, March 31, at the Beardmore Building in Priest River for an examination of the unique canoes the natives used, and the disasters that Thompson built trying to perfect his own unique river rider. Jack’s knowledge and presentation style will make for an entertaining evening.

Doors open at 6:30 for a social gathering, Jack’s presentation begins at 7:15.

Jack will also have copies of his several books for sale.
