Scotchman Peaks is the wild backyard of North Idaho and Northwest Montana. But right now, there are no legal protections to ensure it stays rugged and roadless forever. Here’s how you can help protect it.
Become a Friend
Being a Friend is free! More importantly, it shows your support for keeping the Scotchmans wild.
Get Outside
Our volunteers guide free hikes into the Scotchmans. Discover your backyard with Friends.
Keep Trails Open
Our volunteer trail crew keeps our wild backyard open for everyone. Anyone can be a member of our crew.
Teach Kids Outdoors
Everyone deserves the chance to explore and learn in their wild backyard – especially kids. That’s what our Winter Tracks program is all about.
Build a Stronger Community
FSPW is a grassroots organization fueled by boots on the ground in North Idaho and Northwest Montana. We work across the aisle and bring people together who can at least agree on one thing – keep our backyard wild.
Donate
Your donation will go towards building trails, teaching kids science, and keeping mountain goats safe. You can donate online. Or make out a check to Friends of Scotchman Peaks Wilderness at PO Box 2061, Sandpoint, ID 83864.
