Directions to Trailhead or Meeting Location:
Star Peak Trail #999 begins near the intersection of Forest Road 2292 at MP 6.5 ± on Montana Highway 200. Parking is available in a plowed turnout directly across the highway from the road intersection. The road is not plowed in the winter, but the trailhead is only a few hundred feet up the road. Carpooling will be available from Sandpoint, as well.
Hike Description:Come join award winning author and accomplished long distance hiker Liz Thomas on a moderate length snowshoe hike on the slopes of Star Peak. We’ll hike to some stellar views of the Clark Fork valley and be back in time for late afternoon socializing.
Moderate snowshoe with moderate elevation gain.
