Meeting Location: For those coming from Sandpoint meet at Yokes parking lot at 7:00 am PST; We can meet people in Clark Fork to carvan / carpool if more convenient; anyone coming from MT: we can meet at the junction of the Bull River Highway and HWY 200. When you sign up we can be in direct contact about the details of where and what time to meet depending on where you live.
Hike Description:A some-what annual tradition. Strap your skis on and get ready for a gourmet feast! We will ski from the closest access point we can drive to off Asarco Mine Road in Troy MT. Snow permitting we will ski up gentle elevation for several miles until we reach Spar Lake. There we will (hopefully) bask in the early spring sun and eat and drink. Then there will be the mostly downhill ski all the way back to the cars. The condition of the snow dictates how difficult this is. You need to be prepared for any conditions: from fresh snow, to lovely packed snowmobile trails to, well, ice…. We cannot guarantee the conditions, but we can guarantee a good time!
Bring plenty of food, water and extra layers, headlamp and spare batteries.
