Directions to Trailhead or Meeting Location:

Look out for a short powerline access road leaving Highway 200 around milepost 9, which will take you to the trailhead. Be aware of the very limited parking. To get around this, park on the south side of Highway 200, cross the highway and walk to the trailhead.

Hike Description:

Join some Friends on a hike up Blacktail Creek. This trail may look like it leads nowhere, but it’s a great 4 mile out and back hike for anyone with a little time to take a trip into the wild Scotchmans. We’ll be doing some foraging lessons for those that are interested in learning more about the foods that exist in our wild backyard.

The trail is well-maintained and some nice views make it worth the work. Elevation gain 1200ft.

We will meet at the Blacktail Creek Trailhead at 11AM (Mountain Time) and plan to be back to the vehicles by 2PM (Mountain Time). Be sure to bring plenty of water, snacks, and extra layers in anticipation of fickle weather.
