August 12th-14th: Huckleberry Festival!

Posted on Thursday, July 21st, 2011

The “Huckleberry Capitol of Montana,” otherwise known as Trout Creek, is having its annual Huckleberry Festival! Help celebrate the tasty fruit!

There will be more that 100 arts and crafts vendors displaying and selling their wares at the Trout Creek Community Park. FSPW will have a booth there! We’ll be raffling off two t-shirts so be sure to enter!

Come taste the huckleberry ice cream, “huckleberry pizza,” cheesecake, and drinks. Also, the Trout Creek Fire Department will be offering Saturday and Sunday morning huckleberry pancake breakfasts. Feeling creative? Compete in the Huckleberry Dessert Contest (children and adult divisions).

Scheduled events include entertainment on stage throughout the weekend, a parade, 5K fun run, dancing under the stars, karaoke, dog agility demonstration, huckleberry homesteader pentathlon, food by community groups, a pageant, an auction, children’s activities, horseshoe contest, and interfaith worship service.

Wear your FSPW swag and show your support for the proposed Scotchman Peaks Wilderness, one of the best places for huckleberry picking!
