Finally – A Chance to Take Action

If you have been wondering lately “Are we ever going to achieve wilderness for the Scotchmans?”, you are not alone. It seems like we have been building support forever, while Congress has been busy arguing. Their general gridlock is all the more reason why we need to have our voices heard.

Now is an important time to take action for Wilderness in our region. We have a strong chance to move two Montana wilderness bills forward and clear the decks for the Scotchmans Wilderness.

Comments to Montana Congressman Steve Daines right now can help break the legislative log jam. He can be a key to getting things done – if he hears from enough of us and is willing to act.

Ask Steve to support both Montana’s bills – Senator Tester’s Forest Jobs and Recreation Act and Senator Baucus’ Rocky Mountain Front Heritage Act. Both these bills have strong support from a majority of Montanans with diverse interests. While you are at it, let him know you care about the Scotchman Peaks too! Your comments do not have to be eloquent or long winded to be effective – just ask him to support wilderness!

Contact Steve by phone or email. Regular mail is OK but is very slow to DC. It is especially effective to contact both his DC office and our local office in Missoula as well.

Thanks for helping to protect our precious wild country!!
