Fundraising Challenge Grant 2009

Posted on Wednesday, June 10th, 2009

We are excited to announce that the Friends of Scotchman Peaks Wilderness has been awarded a $4,000 “Challenge Grant” by the Cinnabar Foundation!!

The Cinnabar Foundation is a non-governmental organization (NGO), and was founded to foster environmental protection and wildlife conservation in Montana and the Greater Yellowstone ecosystem. Their major goals are to promote environmental protection in Montana, optimum wildlife populations and habitat, appropriate recreational use of lands and waters compatible with the basic resource and ecologically sound management of lands and water, to solicit, collect, hold and invest money and property and to use the funds and proceeds in furtherance of these purposes. We’re deeply grateful and honored to have the Cinnabar Foundation as a benefactor and fund raising partner.

The ‘Challenge’ is that in order to receive these funds we need your help to raise matching contributions. The sooner we raise the matching funds the sooner that Cinnabar will release the grant money and the more effective our campaign will be. Every dollar you give will be matched by a dollar from the Cinnabar Foundation if we reach our goal of $4,000.

Many of you answered our call by becoming a Friend of Scotchman Peak. Your support and contributions have helped us to achieve the community outreach and education necessary to moving forward a proposal for wilderness in the Scotchmans.
