As we celebrate our country’s independence, help show your support for the preservation of one of America’s greatest assets, our wilderness! Please come and march with the Friends of Scotchman Peaks Wilderness in a parade near you! FSPW will be participating in parades in Sandpoint, Clark Fork, Noxon, Heron, and Troy.
Wear your FSPW apparel! Even if you’re just attending the parade and not actually marching, we’d love to have you show your support!
For the Sandpoint 4th of July parade, meet at the corner of 5th and Church between 9:30 and 9:45 a.m. The parade begins promptly at 10:00 a.m. We’re continuing with the theme “Will Work for Wilderness,” so be sure to make up a cardboard sign that shows your enthusiasm for wilderness! For any questions contact Phil Hough at firstname.lastname@example.org.
For the Clark Fork 4th of July parade, assemble between 9:00 a.m. and 9:15 a.m. at the FSPW float. The float will be in the parade line-up, which is the side street off of Hwy 200 at the Cenex station. The parade begins at 9:30 a.m. For any questions contact Neil Wimberley at email@example.com.
For the Noxon parade meet at 11 a.m. at the high school. The parade starts at 11:30 a.m. For the Heron parade line up at the community center at 1 p.m. The Heron parade starts at 1:30 p.m. If you’re interested in being in both parades, a group will be starting at the Noxon parade and then driving over to the Heron parade. We’re continuing with the theme “Will Work for Wilderness,” so be sure to make up a cardboard sign that shows your enthusiasm for wilderness! For any questions about the parades contact Sandy Compton at firstname.lastname@example.org.
For the Troy parade meet at 10:30 a.m. on Yaak Ave by the grade school field. FSPW will be toward the back. Dress like hikers! Shorts, boots, and your Scotchman swag. It’s supposed to be hot so you might want a hat. The parade starts at 11:00 a.m. For any questions about the parade contact Lauren at email@example.com.
