August 14th: Old Growth Ecology and Wildlife Hike

August 14th, Brian Baxter will be leading an Old Growth Ecology and Wildlife Hike in the Ross Creek Cedars! Join us for an in depth look into old growth ecosystems and the wildlife that utilize these systems.  This “ Hands On, Boots on the Ground “ course will acquaint the participants with the concepts of old growth systems; plant diversity; insects and disease; and the wildlife that inhabit these unique ecological niches.

To sign up email Lauren at lauren@scotchmanpeaks.org. Dress in layers and hiking boots. This is a moderate hike.  Please bring water, snacks, lunch, cameras and binoculars. Meet at the Ross Creek Cedars trailhead at 10 a.m. Mountain time, 9 a.m. Pacific time. Brian’s classes are always interesting and fun, so bring your curiosity and sense of humor!
