Spar Lake Cookout & Snowshoe

We will meet along Troy Mine Road at the winter parking before the turn off to Spar Lake at 9:00am Montana time (8:00am Idaho time) and finish about 4:00pm Montana time.

Let’s snowshoe into Spar Lake on a sprinter day! Spar lake is a beautiful lake nestled below Spar Peak and often hosts ice fishermen and snowmobiles in the winter alongside the resident moose and woodland friends. The route in follows the summer road through the woods with some beautiful winter views along the way. I’ll be bringing along some food and a cook stove to have a fun grill out at the lake. You need only bring a sense of adventure and love of fun! This hike isn’t super difficult but it does involve a steady up and has some length (8ish miles).
