Trail Project: Star Peak #999

When: Saturday Aug 10, 2024
Where: Star Peak #999

Event Description:

Join us on a trail project where you can break a sweat, meet new friends, and give back to our wild backyard. Our focus today will be on brushing and trimming back plant overgrowth. We’ll also clear downed trees and repair tread as needed, and reduce user-created shortcuts on the trail.

Wear sturdy boots, carry lots of water, pack lunch and lots of snacks, dress in long pants, long shirt, hat, sunblock, and bring your own work gloves. FSPW will take care of the rest.

We will meet @8am-3pm PST

How to get there:

Star Peak:

The trailhead is just off of Montana Highway 200 40 miles east of Sandpoint, ID and 45 miles West of Thompson Falls, MT. The trailhead turn-off is near mile marker 6 on Forest Road #2292. About 100 yards up the road, there is a switchback and the trail head is in that corner. It’s marked with a brown gilsonite lath with the number 999 on it. There is room for about four or five cars near the trailhead. You can also park at a highway pull-off that directly across highway from Forest Rd #2292.
