Directions to Trailhead or Meeting Location:

The trailhead is located at approximately milepost 9 on Highway 200. There is a short powerline access road leaving the highway that goes to the actual trailhead. However there is very limited parking at this location. Most users park on the south side of Highway 200 in a large wide area and walk across the highway to the trailhead.

Hike Description:

Come join us for a pleasant morning hike along Blacktail Creek! This trail follows the creek before switchbacking up along the mountainside and into a lovely forest. The first section climbs rather steadily and provides some filtered views of the valley below. As you enter the forest, the rich canopy of trees and gentle sound of the creek will pull you into the wonder of winter. At 3.5 miles round-trip and an elevation gain of 1,200 feet, this is considered a moderate hike. Children comfortable with this hiking level are welcome to participate.

Hike timeframe 9:00am – 12:00pm Mountain time (8-11 Idaho time).
