Starting at the intersection of Fatman Road and Highway 200 (MP 6.3 on MT Highway 200) follow this winter-closed forest road 6 miles ± back to the hike leader’s house, with an option for side trips along the way. Good views of the Clark Fork Valley and a great workout. Folks coming from Sandpoint can meet up for carpooling at the Safeway parking lot at Larch and Fifth Street in Sandpoint. To arrive at the take-off point in time, it’s necessary to leave Sandpoint by 8:00 Pacific time.
There is a wide, plowed parking area on the south side of the highway directly across Highway 200 from the road we will follow.
