Please meet at 10:00am at Clark Fork High School, 502 N. Main Street, Clark Fork to carpool to the starting point. DO NOT DRIVE TO THE END OF THE PAVED LIGHTNING CREEK ROAD AND PARK. PARKING THERE IS LIMITED.
Hike Description:Join the Friends of Scotchman Peaks Wilderness as we step back out into the backcountry for a winter hike up Regal Creek.
This trip will be start about 3 miles down Lightning Creek Road and we’ll stroll down along Lightning Creek and then climb a short way up Regal Creek trail to magnificent views of the valley below. This will be an out and back trip of about 6 to 7 miles. This adventure will be suitable for all abilities. If you haven’t experienced the Scotchman Peaks, you will quickly understand why the trail is called Regal Creek…the views are that special.
As an added bonus, this annual trip on Regal Creek is led by FSPW Executive Director, Phil Hough. Phil is an expert on all facets of the Scotchman’s, so bring your enthusiasm for wild places and be prepared for a fun and educational hike with us!
Bring: layers of clothes, lunch, water, camera, snowshoes, and traction devices.
