Celeste grew up in New Hampshire and at a very young age fell in love with hiking in the White Mountains. This sparked a lifelong enjoyment of spending time in nature, the wilder the better. She moved to Sandpoint in 2011 and within a week of living here, climbed Scotchman Peak, and became involved with Friends of Scotchman Peaks Wilderness. She has worked on the rare carnivore study, winter tracks, led hikes, snowshoes and skis, as well as many other volunteer opportunities that arise. She is passionate about preserving these wild spaces so future generations have the chance to enjoy them as much as she has.
