Northwest Montana is full of incredible opportunities to adventure, explore and enjoy the great outdoors. The roads and trails take us places very few get the privilege of experiencing. Sometimes however, these trips turn into more than just a nice day in the woods. Obstacles and situations arise where a change of plans is a necessity. This can translate into later return times or in some cases emergency situations. Modern technology can help eliminate stress and worry for you and those who love you. Several device options have become available in the last few years which significantly improve back country communications. We will look at several communications options and their uses as well as some basic safety knowledge and supplies. *Fun door prizes will be given out too!

Our presenter, Kevin Lindgren, has been an active member of David Thompson Search and Rescue in south Lincoln County for more than 23 years. As an avid hunter and outdoorsman, he has travelled throughout the Cabinet and West Cabinet mountains for many years. He has also been a guide and adventurer in the Bob Marshall Wilderness Complex for more than a decade on many multi-day experiences.
