Back to the Future

This seems to be the fall of “Back to the Future”.  I don’t mean just the anniversary of the blockbuster film.  Next week, Brad Smith and I will venture back to DC to talk with folks there about the future of the Scotchman Peaks proposed Wilderness!

The DC experience is a combination of fun and frenzy. Our Capitol is an exciting place, but lots of meetings with lots of “hurry up and wait” time make for roller coaster days.  Sort of like our campaign which has seen praise and reassurance from many leaders but no concrete plans.

Now we are going to do what seems funny to many – we hope to get a commitment from one, or more, folks to move a Scotchman Peaks Wilderness bill forward. We all know how much politicians like to actually committ to something.  But this time, we think, we might be able to do that.

If you want to find out how we did – come to MickDuffs on Nov 19th for our Goat Hop Ale release party. We’ll either be toasting success, or drinking our frustrations away.  If you can’t make the party, then check back here, I’ll blog more later this month.
