The Bonner County Fair is right around the corner, and that means two things. One: Hundreds of people will be crowding the fairground for all the fun. And two: Friends of Scotchman Peaks Wilderness needs volunteers to tell those people how to save the wild Scotchmans.
That’s right! Just like previous years, FSPW volunteers will be staffing a booth at the fair. It’s the perfect chance to introduce fair-goers to the work the Friends do every day.
The Friends will have a booth throughout the entire fair: Wednesday, Aug. 21 through Saturday, Aug. 24. And right now, volunteers are especially needed during the evenings and all day Saturday. Spots are also open for Friday.
Remember, there are plenty of reasons to hit the fair beyond talking up the value of clean wilderness air and water. The fair is packed with amazing food and entertainment around every corner. So go ahead, treat yourself to an elephant ear or a huckleberry funnel cake! You’ve earned it for doing your part to save the Scotchmans for our children and grandchildren.
