Directions to Trailhead or Meeting Location:
The trailhead is just off of Montana Highway 200 45 miles east of Sandpoint, ID and 45 miles West of Thompson Falls, MT. The trailhead turn-off is near mile marker 6.5 on Forest Road #2292. You can also park at a highway pull-off that directly across highway from Forest Rd #2292. This highway-adjacent parking is a great option for winter hikers.
Hike Description:Let the moon and stars align! Join us for a snow shoe adventure to the top of Star Peak for the full WORM moon in March. We will start at a reasonable hour and hike and snowshoe to the top where we will enjoy hot beverages and food and watch the moon rise! Then a brisk snowshoe down with the light of the moon (and headlamps).
