We will meet at the trailhead at 9:30am MT (8:30am PT) and return about 4:30pm MT. From Highway 56 in Montana, turn West onto Arco Mine Rd. Continue on Arco Mine Rd. for about 3 miles before turning right onto National Forest (NF) Rd. 7148 and then continue onto NF Rd 384. Follow NF road 384 for about 5 miles past the Southern end of the lake until the road ends. The trailhead will be at the end of this road.
Hike Description:Join us for an adventurous day in the backcountry! We’ll hike the trail to Little Spar Lake before heading off-trail, bushwhacking up to a scenic pass and dropping into the beautiful basin of Horseshoe Lake. Expect a mix of trail hiking and rugged terrain. Bring shoes for a creek crossing and don’t forget a swimsuit if you’re up for a refreshing dip in one of the alpine lakes!
