Hike Description:

Join FSPW from 9am – 4pm MT at the #999 Forest Service Trailhead.

Star Peak Lookout sits at about 6200 feet. We will gain 4,000 ± feet in just over 5 miles! On a clear day, the lookout has some incredible views of the surrounding mountains and valley below. If the weather does not allow for a summit trip, we have the option of stopping near the 2 mile marker where there is a nice overlook.

Bring snowshoes, an extra pair of socks, water, snacks, and a lunch. Older children who can undertake a strenuous hike and have had some winter hiking experience are welcome to join, but please keep in mind that this is a challenging hike in the summer and even more so in the winter season.
